DISTINCTIVE RESTAURANTS

COUNTY KERRY
In keeping with its neighbouring county, Kerry has a strong agricultural base and the benefits flow through very quickly to restaurants in the form of fresh, natural produce. Space does not permit inclusion of all the notable restaurants and in many little coves are unassuming premises with a culinary surprise just waiting to be discovered. As a rough guide to prices the following indicators have been included for a standard three course meal, but excluding wine.
£ = £5-£10: ££ = £10-£15: £££ = £16 plus.

Cahirsiveen
Brennans, Main Street, Cahirsiveen. Tel: (066) 9472021. Family run with imaginative presentation of local produce. ££/£££.

Dingle
Beginish Restaurant, Green Street, Dingle. Tel: (066) 9151321. Excellent seafood menu with emphasis on freshness and dishes imaginatively prepared. ££/£££.

Doyle's Seafood Bar & Townhouse, John Street, Dingle. Tel: (066) 9151174. As its name suggests the bounty from the sea is landed only hours before appearing on the menu. A great seafood experience.

The Half Door,
John Street, Dingle. Tel: (066) 9151600. The opportunity for fresh fish is greatest in Dingle and the menu is always a delight in this 'cottage' style restaurant. ££.

Farranfore

Ulick’s, Farranfore. Tel: (066) 9764522. Superb stop-off point on the way to and from Killarney and Tralee. Long established and with an extensive menu choice, the food and the ‘craic’ are always good.

Glenbeigh

Red Fox Inn, Glenbeigh. Tel: (066) 9769288. Roadhouse in the traditional style beside the Kerry Bog Museum. Traditional fare and welcoming decor.
