HORSERACING
The South East has a particularly strong identity with the Equestrian
world. There are many horse riding facilities for people of all experience.
Options include trekking and trail riding, cross country and beach riding.
Most of the Equestrian centres have qualified instructors and can offer
services from the navice to the experienced.

ANGLING
Sea fishing The miles of coastline offer enormous choice for
the sea angler who can choose shore or boat from any number of locations.
Licences are not required for sea fishing.
The majestic inland rivers of the region have excellent game fishing
in particular, The Slaney, The Suir, The Barrow and The Nore.
The Salmon season is from 1st February to 30th November and the Trout
season from 1st March to 30th November. Licences can be obtained from
most tackle shops (details from the local Tourist Information Office).
BIRDWATCHING
Lady's Island Lake. Shallow Lagoon cut off from the sea by a
shingle bank. Wintering ducks and swans as well as gulls and terns.
Saltee Islands. Uninhabited islands just off Kilmore Quay. The larger
island is a bird sanctuary. Cormorants, shags, kittiwakes, razorbills
and puffins.
Wexford Wildlife Reserve. North of Wexford Harbour (Office of Public
Works) this is a significant reserve. Enormous numbers of white fronted
geese winter here. Many Species of duck and waders. Visitor Centre.
