ALL THAT JAZZ - EXPERIENCE THE VARIED EDINBURGH NIGHTLIFE.
EARLY AUGUST IS A GOOD TIME TO VISIT & EXPERIENCE
THE ACCLAIMED INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL.
What
you do when the sun goes down may be your own little secret but certainly
the city of Edinburgh will have rival attractions. During the Edinburgh
International Festival & Fringe you can probably wade on the wider
shores of culture right through the twenty-four hours. For others a
Scottish experience, piping in the haggis, traditional Scots dishes
and dancers all listed on page 40 under food and drink, will
be the answer. For others it will be a pint of heavy and a wee dram
in an atmospheric old bar. Pub hours are generally 11am to 11pm. Music
bars, discos and clubs often open late, close later. For others it will
be jazz, or Scots-rock. Whatever it is, the city has it, Sláinte
(pronounced Slancha) is gaelic for cheers.
